From Paper to Nature – How to Make Seed Paper?

November 15 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Did you know? The amount of paper we throw away each year is enough to heat fifty million homes for 20 years! That is about one billion trees we throw away (usi.edu, 2018). You can help by making your own plantable paper out of seeds and paper waste. You can plant these sheets anywhere in your yard and have your very own beautiful flower garden! Hosted by the Institute of Urban Ecology at Douglas College, join us in Room C1008 for a workshop on how to make seed paper.

For more updates, follow our Facebook Page at Institute of Urban Ecology.

Note: This is a family friendly event. Children are welcome provided they have at least one guardian with them.

We can be found at Douglas College, David Lam Campus which is one block away from the Lafarge Lake-Douglas Skytrain station. Just take a right on Pinetree Way and head towards the campus. This workshop is located in Room C1008 which is on the West side of the Campus in the lower building.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

We are only one block away from the Lafarge Lake-Douglas Skytrain station. Pay parking available on-site at $2.00 per hour or an $8.00 flat day-use rate. Students and employees of Douglas College have discounted rates with valid student or employee ID. Please see here for further details.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please contact the IUE team. Messages will be responded to as soon as we are able. iue@douglascollege.ca or call 604 527 5522

Can I update my registration information?

Yes. The event is free and open to all, so changes should not be an issue.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. We use tickets to determine the approximate number of attendees, but everyone is welcome.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes, that is not a problem.
